Carved Teak Jali Door · Rajasthan, India

These salvaged teak doors were sourced in Rajasthan and features classic jali (lattice-carved) panels—an architectural detail long used throughout northern India to filter light, provide ventilation, and create privacy while keeping interiors cool.

Carved from solid teak and recently cleaned and stripped down to the natural wood, the door shows the warm grain, subtle wear, and hand-tooled character that only decades of use can produce. The jali work is formed from interlocking geometric floral motifs, each carved by hand.

Whether installed architecturally or used as a decorative statement piece, this door brings with it the patina, weight, and presence of old Rajasthani woodwork. Its age is evident in the softened edges, original brass hardware, and the gentle irregularities that signal true handmade construction.
