Ox-Cart Wheel Coffee Table

Made from an antique bull cart wheel originating in northwestern India, this sculptural low table carries the weight and authenticity of its previous life. Once part of a working agricultural cart that traveled rural trade routes, the piece has been thoughtfully repurposed while preserving its original construction, wear, and deeply weathered character.
The thick circular top retains the rugged texture, age marks, old joinery, and irregular edges developed through decades of use. Heavy solid wood legs and visible hand-hewn construction details reinforce the object’s utilitarian origins while giving it a grounded architectural presence.
At 35 inches in diameter and 15 inches high, the table works beautifully as a coffee table, low lounge table, or layered accent piece. Its compact scale and sculptural form make it particularly compelling in interiors that value texture, history, and material honesty.
The piece pairs naturally with:
- Wabi-sabi and organic modern interiors
- Contemporary rustic spaces
- Collected loft environments
- Belgian and Mediterranean-inspired homes
- Minimal interiors needing warmth and contrast
No two examples are identical. Cracks, old repairs, surface wear, oxidation, tonal variation, and irregular carving are not defects but part of the integrity and story of the original cart wheel construction.
More than a coffee table, the piece functions as a quiet architectural artifact — tactile, sculptural, and unmistakably authentic.
