Crafted from the wheel of an antique Indian bull cart once used by the Ghadia Lohar people — the traditional nomadic blacksmiths of India — this table carries both sculptural presence and deep cultural history. Originally part of a working cart that traveled village to village alongside generations of metalworkers and artisans, the wheel has been thoughtfully reimagined into a striking center table while preserving the integrity and spirit of the original form.
The outer ring of the wheel retains its aged character, including hand-carved geometric detailing and the worn patina developed through decades of use. The original hub and spokes have been replaced with reclaimed old teak, introducing warmth and contrast against the darker weathered wood and iron tones. A cast iron base grounds the piece with subtle industrial weight while allowing the circular top to remain the focal point.
The result is a table that feels both primitive and refined — equally at home in collected contemporary interiors, rustic-modern spaces, loft environments, or globally inspired homes. Its generous scale and strong silhouette make it ideal as a dining table, entry table, or dramatic center table in an open living space.
No two pieces are exactly alike. Variations in carving, wear, surface texture, and coloration are inherent to the age and history of the original cart wheel and are considered part of the table’s character and authenticity.
