These vintage water pots from northwestern India were once functional vessels used for storing and carrying water in rural communities, and today they read as quietly sculptural objects shaped by both utility and time. Their broad rounded forms, narrow necks, and deeply weathered surfaces create a presence that feels simultaneously primitive, architectural, and refined.

Each vessel is hand-formed with subtle asymmetry and individual variation, preserving the marks of traditional craftsmanship. The matte charcoal-black finish, softened edges, mineral deposits, and areas of natural surface wear give the pots remarkable tonal depth and texture. Faint incised banding and irregular hand-worked details become more visible as light moves across the surface.

Mounted on simple iron stands, the forms take on an almost gallery-like quality, allowing them to function beautifully as standalone sculptural objects within contemporary interiors.

Approximately 24 inches wide by 20 inches high, they work especially well:

  • As floor vessels in entryways or living spaces
  • Grouped in layered wabi-sabi interiors
  • In contemporary organic modern homes
  • Within Belgian or minimalist interiors needing warmth and texture
  • In hospitality or retail environments as collected architectural objects

No two are identical. Variations in shape, surface texture, firing marks, coloration, and wear are inherent to their history and authenticity.

More than decorative vessels, these pieces carry the quiet presence of utilitarian objects elevated through age, material honesty, and time.

Dimensions approximately: 24" x 20"H
