The Millhouse Teak Sideboard
Crafted from reclaimed teak, this sideboard balances clean architectural lines with the warmth and character of salvaged wood. The design is intentionally restrained — allowing the natural grain, subtle tonal variation, and hand-finished texture of the teak to take center stage.
Traditional iron hardware and simple paneled doors reference historic cabinetry forms found throughout India, while the overall silhouette feels decidedly contemporary. The proportions are low and substantial, giving the piece a grounded presence that works equally well in modern, collected, and transitional interiors.
The reclaimed teak retains the marks of its previous life: small imperfections, old joinery traces, scattered knots, and natural variation that bring depth and authenticity to the surface without overwhelming the simplicity of the design.
With four doors concealing generous interior storage, the cabinet functions beautifully as:
- a dining room sideboard,
- media console,
- entry cabinet,
- or low storage piece in a living space or office.
Its versatility comes from the tension between refinement and utility — a piece that feels warm and tactile without becoming overly rustic or decorative.
Dimensions:
59" L × 16" W × 31" H
Because reclaimed teak is used throughout, each piece will feature unique grain patterns, tonal shifts, and subtle variations that are inherent to the material and part of its character.
